I thought it would be interesting to see what everyone's opinions are on this. Regardless of what the current laws are where you live at the moment, what do you think the law should be regarding cell phone use while driving?
Please try to keep the discussion relatively sensible and friendly! I know that this could turn into a very heated debate on what is safe and what is not, but please state your opinion and respect the opinions of others if they are different from your own...
Nice going! I'm sure most people would be proud if they managed one of those. I don't smoke and I don't drink much but I eat a lot of chocolate which I need to cut down on, and I have to exercise more...
I usually leave it off, otherwise I'm looking at it non-stop (same goes for F10-12 displays). I'll just bring it up now and then in longer races to check I'm not overheating a tire too badly.
Because the devs chose it to be that way. It's their decision... you could keep giving more to demo users, but there will always be complaints about something that isn't offered in the demo that 'should' be offered... Where does it end?
At least there is a demo and at least demo racers have full rights to post on the forum... iRacing for example doesn't even have a demo mode, and you're only allowed access to the forums if you're a subscriber! It could be worse...
Happy birthday. You might want to bookmark this thread for next year, rather than starting a new thread again
Congratulations on your 700th post being absolutely pointless! Didn't even wish the guy a happy birthday!
Oh, the irony!!
Edit: asbjoern - you do know about the post edit button right? :P I know it means you only get to bump your post count up by a single post rather than two though
Great car (I own one :P), but with those specs, it's going to be very close in performance to an XRG! If you could only have one new car, surely you'd like something different from anything in the sim already?
It's nice that you had a chance to express your hate for Fords again! I was thinking you haven't had enough of an opportunity to do that recently Would you like to put in a plug for VW while you're at it?
Oh come on, I've been here since this forum started, if I was really trying to post just to get my post count higher I would have been well over a thousand by now! I'm at 0.44 posts per day, not exactly a big spammer...
I just thought it was funny that Luke thought we were all interested in how many cylinders the ricey Mustang had!
Edit: I find it ironic that you made a comment on one of my less productive posts, indicating you thought I was trying to boost my post count, and then you went on almost immediately to post this and this yourself! Nice going!
If you've got nothing to contribute, why not just... not contribute?? Just let people discuss whatever they want to discuss, and if it doesn't interest you, ignore it and move on.
I agree with Ikaponthus, something old would be fantastic. Maybe a Maserati 250F. Ikaponthus, you might want to change 'NFS' to 'LFS' before the LFS fanboys and NFS haters get on your case haha...
This is a discussion forum. But because you started this thread you can tell us not to discuss things? Hmm... If it annoys you to have conversations in discussion forums perhaps you're not in the right place...
Locally prices of the G25 have actually risen recently... Last year they got down to about $220 CAN at www.ncix.com , and one deal actually got the price down to under $200. Currently they seem to be at about $300, with the odd deal on that price. Future Shop here in Canada used to sell them for $300, now they're $360... I wasn't expecting to see the prices go up, but it looks like they have done for the time being. I'm holding out for the time being, but next time I see it anywhere close to $200 on ncix.com I'm going to grab one.
You could also buy licenses for friends who just use the demo, or buy licences for people you know on the forum who would like them but don't have them....
An observant passenger can tell a lot about how a car handles. I often instruct at autocross events, and as a passenger I can tell a lot about what the car is doing and what the driver can do differently to improve things. For example you can easily tell when the car is understeering, and tell that the driver is adding on too much extra steering lock, which is actually making the understeer worse. Or that they apply too much extra throttle mid turn which worsens the understeer. Or that the way they use the brakes upsets the balance of the car on corner entry. Sure, you may not get the 'feel' as a passenger but you can certainly tell a lot about the 'handling'.
If there were a few more cars and tracks, I'd happily pay another 12 pounds. If it was a big update with physics and gameplay changes as well as extra vehicles and tracks I'd pay more than 12 pounds. But typically the gameplay and physics and graphics changes are all included in the base, and then you just pay for the extra content. So if the same thing occurs for S3, then we will get the most up to date physics and graphics etc regardless of whether we purchase the extra car/track content of S3. I guess we'll have to see how the devs handle this...
